They like big storage tanks, lakes, ponds, and slow-moving relocating streams. They are not typically located in shallow locations with thick growths of weeds. They are much more normally in open waters. They could also be located in waters listed below dams, near promptly relocating water. Below they ambush passing target. They also could stay in the cover of downed trees, weed beds, rough frameworks, and over-hanging arm or legs. They are usually a lot more active at dawn and dusk.
